This is our 1943 Lister D Stationary engine, it was found by a good friend and is a true barn find and research shows that it may have been left untouched in the barn since 1957.
Still with it’s cobwebs and spiders we checked the oil and cleaned the spark plug, tipped in some fuel and away it went.
The engine is a project for James our 10 year old son with a little help (or hindrance) from his 11 year old sister, obviously with me looking over there shoulders so things are done safe.
We will keep you updated as we do things to our “D”
The only tools you need...
A person needs only three tools in life: WD-40, duct tape and a hammer. If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape. If either doesn't work, use the hammer.
Giving it it's first wash
James giving it a bit of bling
First makeshift run of the engine with pump and hopper, all the joints were leaking but it did work.
